Football Rules
The Basics

  1. Games consist of two 15-25 minute halves. Extra time will only be awarded due to a stop in play for injury.
  2. Each team consists of 4 to 6 players.
  3. From each team, 4 players plus a goalkeeper may be on the field at once, with upto 3 players who may substitute in.
  4. There is no offside.
  5. No tackling a player from behind. No bicycle or scissor kicks allowed. This results in a free kick.
  6. No slide tackling, sliding for interception, or any form of sliding will be permitted.
  7. No two-on-one tackles.

Goalkeeper

  1. Goalkeepers may not pick the ball up from a direct back pass. An intentional direct back pass to keeper will result in a penalty spot kick.
  2. Goalkeepers may pick up a back pass if it rebounds off the side wall (excludes back wall), or if it bounces off the head or chest of a teammate.
  3. Goalkeepers may only handle the ball in the demarcated half circle goal box.
  4. The goalkeeper may slide anywhere within this designated box.
  5. The goalkeeper may not drag the ball from outside this box back in and pick it up.
  6. The goalkeeper may score a goal from the penalty box, provided the ball was played on the ground. No throw-in goals are allowed.

Open Play

  1. A player in possession may not carry the ball backwards for more than two steps in an attempt to win a free kick from a 'challenge' from behind.
  2. Players may not hold on to the nets or the side boards/wall that surround the pitch.
  3. The Corners
  4. If a player carries the ball into the corner circle, opponents may not tackle that player. The player has 5 seconds before they must leave the corner circle or pass the ball. Upon leaving the corner circle, a player cannot return until another player has touched the ball. If the player remains in the corner circle for longer than 5 seconds, possession of the ball will be reversed.
  5. Out Of Play
  6. If the ball is kicked out on the long sides of the pitch, the opposition continues to play from where the ball went out.
  7. If the ball is kicked out on the short sides of the pitch, a corner or goal kick is awarded.
  8. Penalties
  9. No run up is allowed when taking penalties and the standing foot must be grounded at all times. A player’s non-kicking foot is placed next to the ball on the designated penalty spot, and the ball is to be kicked in that stance. The goalkeeper is not allowed to move from the goal line until the penalty taker has kicked the ball.

Free Kicks

  1. Opposition player/s must stay at least 2m away from the ball. Only a one-man wall will be allowed.
  2. A player taking the free kick has 5 seconds or the play will be reversed.
  3. A player may shoot for goal directly.
  4. A player cannot pass the ball to himself. He must pass to a teammate.
  5. A player cannot use the net to pass the ball to himself off a free kick.

Box Cricket Rules

  1. Each team shall comprise of six players.
  2. The match shall be six overs an inning and only one inning each. Approximate time per match is 45 minutes.
  3. Sports shoes with rubber soles are a must. No studs or spikes are allowed.
  4. The ball used in indoor cricket is a modified yellow cricket ball, with a softer center. Soft or heavy tennis/cricket balls may also be used.
  5. Traditional outdoor cricket bats or more specialized lighter-weight indoor cricket bats may be used.
  6. It is suggested that all protective gear such as pads, helmet, gloves, guards etc. are used while playing.
  7. Each player must compulsorily bowl one over.
  8. A team will have to bat the full quota of six over even if they over haul opponent's score.
  9. The opening batting pair shall bat for the first two over. The opening pair will have to be replaced by the next pair at the end of first two over.
  10. The side netting has a one bonus run zone which covers the area between the batting crease and halfway line, and another two bonus runs zone which continues from the halfway line to the corner of the playing area. The front netting is a four bonus runs zone if hit after the bounce, and six bonus runs zone when the ball hits it on the full. The bonus runs are added with the score made by running between the wickets.
  11. No bonus run will be awarded if the ball hits the roof netting.
  12. A catch off any net is declared out and three runs is deducted from the batting side. The batsman however continues to bat. This rule however does not apply for a catch off the front net when a six is hit.
  13. Running between the wickets takes place from the batting crease to the half-way point on the pitch. The runners crease is marked at the halfway point and the runner stand at the crease. All complete runs will therefore mean a player runs only half the pitch.
  14. To run a batsman out at the bowler's end, the wicket at the bowler's end will have to be struck before the batsman reaches the half way runner's crease.
  15. No LBW rules apply.
  16. A dismissal will mean deduction of three runs but the batsman continues to bat.
  17. A maximum of 3 players, inclusive of the bowler, shall be allowed beyond the two bonus runs zone.
